This book managed to make the often confusing events happening in the current Syrian conflict understandable. It gives a great historical discussion of the people, organizations and events that brought about the beginning of the conflict. There is an excellent chronological discussion of the political maneuvering and numerous battles that have taken place since 2012.Also, the aircraft involved are well covered in pictures and colored silhouettes. Numerous tables cover orders of battle, losses and other relevant information.I would have liked to see more and larger maps covering the areas involved, but I liked the quality of the paper on which the soft cover book was printed.In summary, after reading this book I feel that I now have a much better understanding of what has occurred in Syria and why these events have taken place.
